How I Keep My Sled Dogs Active During The Summer Months

One human, entertaining four grown-ass huskies. This should be fun!

Three of them are mine, and the picture above is our family dog “Jay”, which I am also responsible for this summer, so I’ve decided to include him as well.

How I Do It

With summer just around the corner and the sled I use for dog sledding long stored in the back of our little shed, you’re probably wondering how I manage to find the time and energy, to entertain and keep active all of my four Siberian huskies during the upcoming summer months. Well, let me enlighten you;

First off, I try to get my dogs out early in the mornings, usually before breakfast, or late in the evenings, just before the sunsets. This is when it’s the coolest outside and I don’t have to worry about my dogs overheating. Perfect also, because this is usually when I have all of my free time, and when my dogs are the most active.

Early Morning Runs

It’s nice to always have a running buddy excited, eager, and ready to go no matter how early it is in the morning.

I run four to five times a week, and with my runs usually being an hour to two hours long at a time (depending on my training schedule) I’ll make sure to switch it up, so everyone gets…
