The smell of bacon woke me up as it usually does every Saturday morning. We tend to eat breakfast as a family on weekends. Catching up on news and events that have happened throughout the week, we like to spend some quality time together.

Usually on Saturdays I also like to have my rest days, as I train hard throughout the week I like to have a day to just decompress, relax, eat, and do absolutely nothing without feeling guilty.

Feeling Off

Yesterday however, I was off. I felt depressed and unmotivated, not my usual cheerful self. Even breakfast didn’t do it for me, and that says a lot!

Sitting in my room staring holes in the ceiling I was not in the mood for anything. I tried napping a bit to sleep it off but that didn’t help. Reluctantly I got out my laptop and tried to do some writing, but my brain had troubles focusing and I quickly gave up.

Snacking on a bag of granola I tried to chill and watch some Netflix. Usually food makes me feel better as it gives me comfort and lifts my mood, but it didn’t then.

So what to do with myself? How can I make my day better? Run? But it was supposed to be my rest day! Maybe a quick jog won’t hurt just to lift my mood?
