Napkins, Wine, And Pasta

I promise I didn’t spill a single drop of wine. The dirty napkins piling up in front of me were strictly from wiping my mouth, after having demolished a huge plate of pasta a few minutes before this picture was taken. Not at all photogenic, I struggle to find the right angles most of the time. I can get super awkward when people take pictures of me and immediately tense up as soon as the lens is pointed my way. However, after having had a few glasses of wine I felt comfortable enough to give it a shot for one quick pose (ok maybe two), and surprisingly the pics didn’t turn out half as bad. I must confess though, the half empty glass of wine in front of me was actually not mine but my friends, which I had borrowed strictly for photo purposes of course. To address the elephant in the room — my Fitbit. I know it clearly doesn’t match my outfit, and I did think about taking it off, but then decided against it, because I wasn’t about not to track the few steps I took from the car into the restaurant, to our table, to the bathroom, and back to our car (I know totally worth it). Despite my hair transforming into a ball of frizz over the course of the evening, and my feet turning numb from being squeezed into heels for so long, I had a great night out with the girls. Wearing a dress again left me feeling cute, and having put on some makeup (which I haven’t done in forever) gave me a bit of a confidence boost, because for once I knew I actually tried to look somewhat decent. Car keys lying to my right ( I wasn’t driving no worries), and a “to go” box ready, to pack up the leftovers from our desert (cinnamon sticks, yum) that we’ve miraculously still managed to squeeze in after all that pasta, we were ready to call it a night. Refreshing, to say the least, a night out was exactly what I had needed.

I had to work to not give you 50 claps because you're way too photogenic. This slam-everything-together paragraph of sentences is smart! The writing is authentic, take-you-there, unassuming and shy. Fun.
My only complaint -- can't tell if you're…
